About Us
VAT Consultants Association of Bangladesh (VCAB) is the first and only professional association of its kind in Bangladesh dedicated exclusively to VAT Consultants and VAT Agents enlisted by the National Board of Revenue (NBR). The Association has been formally recognized as a Trade Organization by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and is recommended by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
VCAB was established on 30 November 2011 with the objective of creating a unified, professional, and ethical platform for VAT Consultants and VAT Agents in Bangladesh. After years of continuous professional engagement and institutional development, the Association received recommendation from FBCCI as a Trade Organization on 10 January 2021. Subsequently, VCAB obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in 2021, recognizing its professional role and contribution to the VAT sector.
Thereafter, the Ministry of Commerce issued Trade Organization License No. 19/2021 on 29 September 2021, officially granting VCAB the status of a Trade Organization. Finally, the Association was duly registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) on 24 November 2021, bearing Registration No. TO-1029/2021, thereby completing all statutory and regulatory formalities.
VCAB is formed to support, represent, and uplift the professional interests of VAT Consultants and VAT Agents, and is committed to promoting best practices in VAT compliance, professional advisory services, continuous professional development, and the highest standards of ethics across the VAT consulting industry.
The Association brings together experienced VAT consultants, VAT agents, and subject-matter experts who possess in-depth understanding of Value Added Tax and related fiscal laws of Bangladesh. VCAB works to strengthen the VAT profession by providing professional guidance, facilitating knowledge sharing, and encouraging collaboration among members to ensure accurate, compliant, and quality services for businesses and taxpayers.
The core focus of VCAB is to enhance VAT knowledge, improve compliance standards, and assist businesses in navigating the evolving VAT regime with confidence, transparency, and integrity. Through regular seminars, workshops, training programs, professional discussions, and advocacy initiatives, VCAB aims to empower both newly enlisted and experienced VAT Consultants with practical skills, regulatory updates, and applied insights necessary to deliver reliable and efficient VAT services.
VCAB strongly believes that professional excellence, ethical conduct, and continuous learning are the foundation of a credible and trusted VAT consulting community. Whether supporting businesses in VAT registration and compliance, interpreting complex VAT laws and rules, or providing strategic VAT planning and advisory services, members of the Association strive to deliver high-quality, practical, and lawful solutions.
The Association also plays an important role in supporting national revenue collection efforts by promoting voluntary VAT compliance, proper documentation, accurate return filing, and ethical advisory practices. VCAB recognizes that a strong partnership between the tax administration, VAT consultants, and taxpayers is essential for strengthening Bangladesh’s revenue system.
In this regard, VCAB works to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative dialogue with government authorities, including the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and other relevant regulatory bodies, by sharing professional feedback, practical field-level experiences, and policy-oriented recommendations to support effective VAT administration and implementation.
Furthermore, VCAB actively collaborates with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and other business and trade organizations to create awareness among businesses regarding VAT laws, compliance obligations, and best practices. Through such collaboration, VCAB aims to act as an effective bridge between taxpayers and the Government, facilitating communication, reducing compliance gaps, resolving practical challenges, and fostering mutual trust.
The Association was founded by nine distinguished VAT Consultants, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation of VCAB. The Founding Members are:
